The provost,

The heads of Department,
The student Leaders,
The Association National President,
The Zonal Coordinators and the executives present,
Greatest Naccosites,
Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is with great joy that I stand before you this morning to address you as it affects your studentship, your career and why you exists either as a student or as an individual.
First of all, iampascalokeke and I so much believe in myself. Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in me? Do you believe in your course mates? Do you believe that every one of you can create something that uniquely can transform the world? Because you believe in yourself and one another, I so much believe we can reach our various potentials no matter who we are or where we are coming from or what we do.
Today, I want us to talk about purpose but I am not here to give you the standard commencement to finding your purpose. We are millennials. We will try to do that instinctively. Instead, we are here to tell you that finding your purpose isn’t enough. The challenge for our generation is creating a world where everyone will have a sense of purpose. Purpose in the sense that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. That we are needed. That you have the something better to work for. Purpose is who creates true happiness.
We live in a society where a body called JAMB determines our fate and career. Most times they determine our future. But with you, we can change that and create a better atmosphere for our generation and younger ones.

You will graduate now that the definition of purpose is important. During the time of our parents, purpose reliably came from your job, or what you do or what your parents think is right for you but today, Technology and automation is replacing many jobs. Many people feel disconnected and depressed and are trying hard to fill a void.

To keep our generation and society moving forward, we have a generational challenge – no only to consume or to create new jobs but create a renewed sense of purpose.
In our society we are afraid of making mistakes. The society/generation won’t forgive us if we fold our arms and stay idle.
These achievements are within our reach. Let’s do them. In a way that gives everyone in our society a role. Let’s do the BIG THING not only to create progress but create a purpose.
Starting a career is one first thing we can do to create a world where everyone will have a sense of belonging/purpose.
Today as requested by the organizers, I am here to reconstruct that bridge between you are your career but we cannot do it I we don’t define why we are here.
Do you feel lost or as if something is missing in your career, maybe, you want a bigger difference in the world than you felt but you aren’t sure. So many of us here have asked questions, spent hours thinking, soaked our pillows with thoughts, prayed on how to make deeper connection between our future and now but you are not yet sure if either you questions have been answered, if your thoughts are right. Or if your efforts are pointing to the targeted result.

The two greatest days in our life are the day we were born and the day we find our purpose. But if you don’t know what your purpose are: then you don’t know why you are here and I tell you. It can be real hard to keep going.

I know this feeling too well. I use to suffer immense turmoil; while trying so hard to find my purpose. I lost my parents are the tender age of six. With nobody to either take care of me or provide my needs, I struggle daily to find my purpose but it wasn’t until I discovered my purpose isn’t fighuroutable from my head. That I found a way to get there. I thought to myself that maybe, the problem is that I am trying to find my purpose.
We can’t think our way into our life’s passion and purpose. We are here to do it our way. That means taking step towards what you want and the removal of the things you don’t want.
If you are still looking for a career path in ICT that you want to venture into probably because you are capitalizing on passion and purpose, please stop looking and start doing. If you are confused, these steps will guide you.
1. Get more action: you can’t think you way into finding your purpose; you have to do your way into it. Take a mental note from NIKE and JUST DO IT. The more you act, the more we get things done. Instead of over thinking it: maybe asking questions like: will this workout? What will my friends say? I have a church activity, what will my boyfriend say? How about my assignment? Etc. Note that the EXPERIENCE is the REWARD. Clarity comes through the process of exploring. Acton is where the result lies.
2. Drop from your head to your heart: your heart is your best tool to access true purpose and passion. Ask yourself, what you love and start taking steps to it. When you are inspired, you are connected to your happy self. Inspiration floods from your heart to your soul.
3. Break up with the one: many of us struggle daily because we try to find that ONE thing we are meant to do. But trying to find only one thing is the reason why we feel like something is missing.
The notion that we have only one thing we are good at limits us from fulfilling our greatness. Take for instance, I am a polyglot meaning that I am a Full stack developer, a writer cum farmer, a digital marketer, a pianist and a
bricklayer and each thing I do, brings me joy but none of these is my purpose, they are my passion
The earlier we stop blaming our society and start taking advantage of opportunities as well as taking the responsibilities of our future the better for all of us. One thing has kept destroying us just because we have felt to draw out our purpose and our reason for making use of it. SOCIAL MEDIA.
You are here to pick a career in ict either as an analyst, technical rep, creative personnel, graphics artiste, animator, etc. and work towards doing it professionally.
Without further waste of your time, I would want to engage you to solving some critical questions that may have been keeping you away from your dream!
1. How do I get started
2. Which career do I choose
3. How much do I need to start
4. But I don’t have a laptop
5. My courses are crashing with my time
6. My church doesn’t support these jobs
7. Will my parents allow me?
8. What will limit me from breaking
9. How do I get connected?
10. Now that I have known, what next?

Thank you for giving me much of your time and audience,
I am always grateful standing before you as a colleague and brother

God bless you
